Music executive Mickey Kapp, who made recordings for astronauts in space, dies at 88 – Monterey Herald

This story almost got past me. Interesting!

Mick Kapp“On every mission after Apollo 7, NASA sent the astronauts with tape recorders to take notes. Rather than sending them up with blank cassette tapes, Mr. Kapp pitched NASA on the idea of providing the astronauts with prerecorded music to entertain them on their mission, which they could later record over with their notes.”
